Then I looked again at the season regulations....... I have one more weekend to hunt!!!! 
I'm feeling much better now! I thought, for some reason that the spring turkey season ended yesterday....... not sure why, but I did. I double checked the regulations again this morning and found I have one more weekend. I don't usually hunt much after the first week of season either having tagged out or work getting too busy to afford me time to make the trip to the farm. Saturday morning was a wet one this weekend. I didn't see a turkey one on the public land. I did hear 3-4 hens and 2 gobblers, but due to cover I never did get to see any of them and they were close........ just not in the location I was trying to call them in to and I'm pretty sure the gobblers could see my setup before they came in to the old access road I was hunting. The straw and brush was too thick to hunt off the side of it. I heard one of them yelping as he was fast walking away...... never putted, but he was nervous and quit gobbling when he was on the other side of the field. I guess it could've been a jake, but it was weird. I was back in the edge of the timber a good 6 or so yards with plenty of ground cover, but was having trouble sitting perfectly still. Tried some more mushroom hunting and didn't find a darn thing. I know there are still some morels to be found...... just not where I'm looking!
