My aunt and uncle lived in FL for a while. Neighbors would feed cranes. Birds would come to a porch and peck holes in the screens looking for a handout!

Dale, There are quite a few down there. I wonder if the neighbors new what they were doing was illegal? FL has laws against feeding wildlife. It makes them unafraid of humans as the holes in the scrn prove.

Yep. When I fished that lake I kept one eye out for gators and used one eye to fish! Never saw a dog or cat in that housing development. We never ventured out at night.

George,I've hunted Sandhill Cranes in Saskatchewan and like swans, if they aren't dead, they'll lunge for your eyes People that use dogs are very cautious on this!! I've called them in goose hunting in Michigan and use to scout seed soybean fields and have to watch for them after they ducked down and waited for you to get in striking distance!! Scouting tall wheat for army worms, was a scarry time when dad & momma & a lil' one would walk into a wheat field to hide and you have to be in there also
