First off, GITCHER MINDS OUTTA THE GUTTER!!!!
At about 9:15 A.M., I saw this GBH in my back yard about half way between the house & barn. I see them quite often but they are always in the creek or flying over. I have never seen 1 in the yard. I managed to get a couple of pics before it took off. The weather was beautiful with literally no clouds in the sky.
The tall grass line is the bank of my creek.
At about 3:48 P.M., I noticed it was getting dark. I went out to a lot of rumbling & grumbling as the storm rolled in from the west. I thought I was going to get hammered again as the clouds were extremely low & a lot darker than the pics show. The saving grace was the wind. It was strong enough to pretty much blow the worst of the storm over & past me. All I got was ½”. The was the last rain we’ve gotten this week & things are finally starting to dry out & warm up. I think summer has finally arrived in north-central Ohio.
