On the way home from lunch on 06/05, I spotted this GBH standing on a log. They tend to get real nervous real fast & I only got this pic of it flying off.
I don’t see turkeys near my place very often so it was a surprise to see this bird back on 06/17. I took this pic from the back of my barn. I moved as far towards the bird as I could but, between my property going down hill & a rise in the field, I couldn’t get any other shots.
Turkey in the bean patch pickin’ out bugs.
Today on the way home from lunch, I took a lot of pics. There were a lot of squirrels out but they didn’t cooperate. There were also a lot of buzzards in the fields. I think a lot of little critters must have drowned during the flooding earlier this week & the buzzards took advantage of the buffet. I also saw 2 other deer, at least 1 was a buck, crossing the road near the same spot where I got pics of a hen in the road several days ago.
I spotted this mallard drake sitting on the same log as the GBH. He was a lot more tolerant & I was able to get quite a few shots.
Duck, duck, no goose.
That dude was really kicking up a wake. You know what they say about ducks…….Calm above the surface………..Paddling like hell below the surface.
I got some pretty good shots of The 3 Amigos. I did get 1 with the middle buck headed towards the woods but it was pretty fuzzy. He was the gooderun of the 3 but they should all be decent bucks this fall.
This Great Egret was in a partially flooded bean fields on the south side of the patch woods where my buddy was “chirping” to a gobbler I was trying to work this spring.
These buzzards were perched on top of an old barn across the road from my buddy’s place. They is some ugly critters.
Fly Away.Fly Away.Bye Bye.
All by myself. Don’t wanna be, all by myself.
